The Spider-Man star hit the Wings of Death promoting The Odyssey, tapped out spectacularly, and laughed the whole way through.
Hot Ones has served the Wings of Death to hundreds of celebrities across more than 25 seasons. Tom Holland just did something none of them had: he threw up on camera (via Variety and Consequence).
Appearing alongside his Odyssey co-star Jon Bernthal, Holland visibly struggled with the heat throughout the interview. After the pair finished the wings and stood up to shoot promotional material, Holland started coughing, bent over, and became the first guest in show history to lose the battle on screen.
His recovery is the part worth celebrating. Holland immediately started laughing, popped back up, and reassured everyone: “I got none of it on my clothes.” Bernthal grabbed him by the shoulders and cheered “Let’s go,” turning a rough moment into the best kind of good sportsmanship.
For a show built on watching famous people suffer with dignity, Holland delivered the platonic ideal: he took the worst it had to offer and kept his sense of humor entirely intact.
