News. Fandom. Community.
The Nerd Wire is an independent entertainment publication covering the world of fandom — movies, television, gaming, comics, anime, conventions, cosplay, and collectibles.
We started with a simple frustration: entertainment news didn’t have to be this way. The rumors dressed up as reporting. The outrage manufactured for clicks. The headlines engineered to make you angry about things that never actually happened. Somewhere along the way, covering the things fans love turned into farming the things fans fear.
We think there’s a better way to do this.
What we believe
Accuracy over speed. We’d rather be right than first. When something is confirmed, we say so. When it’s a report, we tell you who’s reporting it. When it’s a rumor, we label it a rumor — or we don’t run it at all.
Community over outrage. Fandom is built by cosplayers, artists, collectors, indie developers, comic creators, photographers, and the volunteers who make conventions run. We spotlight those people, with their permission, with prominent credit, every time. They’re the reason any of this exists.
Respect over clickbait. No manufactured controversy. No fandom wars. No headlines that promise what the story doesn’t deliver. If a post doesn’t inform you, celebrate someone, entertain you, or start a real conversation, we don’t publish it.
What we cover
Entertainment news across film, TV, gaming, comics, and anime. Convention coverage, from the biggest Hall H moments to the artist alley tables you shouldn’t walk past. Creator spotlights and interviews. Release calendars so you never miss a premiere, a launch, or new comic book day. And yes — the occasional meme, because we’re fans too, and some of this stuff is genuinely funny.
A note from the founder
The Nerd Wire began as one fan’s conviction that entertainment media could be both professional and joyful — that you could take the work seriously without taking the fun out of it. It’s growing into a publication with a simple long-term goal: to be the outlet fans trust, creators feel respected by, and the industry takes seriously.
We’re just getting started. Thanks for being here for it.
