Daredevil: Born Again Season 3: Cast, Release Window and Everything We Know

Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 is officially in the can. Here's when it's expected, who's returning — including two big Defenders — and where the story is headed.

By August 6, 2026

Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 has wrapped filming. Star Vincent D’Onofrio confirmed the news on July 21, and cast wrap-party posts followed soon after. So while the season is still a while away, the hard part — shooting it — is done.

Marvel hasn’t dated the premiere yet. The season is currently expected to land in March 2027 on Disney+, though the studio hasn’t locked an official date. Showrunner Dario Scardapane returns to steer it, alongside a returning cast and, notably, a couple of familiar faces from the wider Defenders corner.

Has Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 finished filming?

Yes. Production ran from March 17 through the July 21 wrap. D’Onofrio made it official, and co-stars shared behind-the-scenes send-offs. That timeline lines up with the roughly year-out release window Marvel has favored for the series.

When does it release?

The expected window is March 2027, mirroring the Season 2 rollout in March 2026. Marvel has not confirmed a specific date, so treat that window as reported rather than official until the studio announces it.

Who’s in the cast?

Charlie Cox returns as Matt Murdock, with Vincent D’Onofrio back as Wilson Fisk. The core ensemble also includes Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), Wilson Bethel (Bullseye), Margarita Levieva (Heather Glenn), Genneya Walton (BB Urich), Nikki M. James (Kirsten McDuffie), Zabryna Guevara (Sheila Rivera) and Arty Froushan (Buck Cashman).

The headline additions, though, are two Defenders. Krysten Ritter returns as Jessica Jones and Mike Colter is back as Luke Cage — a meaningful pull for fans who’ve waited years to see those characters back in this corner of the MCU. Matthew Lillard also joins as a character called Mr. Charles.

Where is the story heading?

(Brief Season 2 spoilers ahead.)

Scardapane has said Season 3 returns to a street-level story, leaving the mayoral arc of Season 2 behind. That reset makes sense given where Season 2 left everyone: Murdock ended the season behind bars after publicly admitting he’s Daredevil, while Fisk lost the mayor’s office and accepted exile from New York.

From there, the details get thinner. Set photos have pointed to Sheila Rivera running for mayor in Fisk’s wake, plus hints of a deeper conspiracy tied to Lillard’s Mr. Charles. Treat those as reported set sightings, not confirmed plot — Marvel hasn’t detailed the story.

Which villains are coming back?

Kingpin and Bullseye are both returning. Marvel has also signaled new villains beyond those two, but none are confirmed yet. Expect the studio to hold those reveals until closer to the premiere.

What’s still unknown

Plenty. There’s no official release date, no confirmed plot, and no full villain lineup. What’s solid is the shape of it: filming is done, the core cast is back, two Defenders are rejoining, and the story is going street-level again. We’ll update this piece as Marvel confirms more.
