Marvel Studios is bringing Avengers: Endgame back to theaters for “Endgame — Encore,” a re-release beginning September 24 in Australia and September 25 in the U.S. that comes with a custom introduction, a new post-credits scene, and an exclusive first look at Avengers: Doomsday.
The rerelease is being positioned as a genuine event rather than a straight reissue, with new footage and premium formats designed to bridge Endgame’s ending into the road to Doomsday, which arrives in theaters December 18.
What’s new in this rerelease
Beyond the custom introduction and new post-credits scene, Marvel says the re-release adds new footage to the film itself. IMAX and the newly introduced “Infinity Vision” Premium Large Format screens get an additional exclusive preview of Avengers: Doomsday on top of what’s showing in standard theaters. Tickets are on sale now through Fandango.
A preview of what’s coming
Marvel hasn’t detailed exactly what the Doomsday preview shows, but the timing lines up with a film expected to bring together a sprawling ensemble spanning the Avengers, the Thunderbolts, the Fantastic Four, and legacy X-Men characters. Getting any first look at that footage on the big screen ahead of December’s release is a rare treat for fans heading into the next Avengers chapter.
