Battlefield 6’s Dead Space Event Is Live, and It Comes With a New PvE Mode

Battlefield 6's Dead Space: Convergence event is live through Nov. 10, with a new 16-player PvE mode, a Pulse Rifle pickup and cosmetic rewards.

Something dead has gotten into Area 51. Battlefield 6‘s Dead Space crossover, Dead Space: Convergence, went live on Tuesday, Oct. 20, and it is not just a skin drop. EA built a brand-new PvE mode around it, and the event runs through Nov. 10 in both Battlefield 6 and REDSEC.

Marker Incursion is a 16-player PvE mode

The headline addition is Marker Incursion, a limited-time 16-player PvE mode set on Area 51. Squads fight off AI-controlled “Marked Soldiers” and try to destroy the Marker before the Convergence spreads, according to EA’s Game Update 2.1.1.0 notes. Battlefield’s Oct. 20 launch post adds the pitch in brief: destroy the Marker, survive the hordes and unlock Dead Space rewards.

The Pulse Rifle, one of the most recognizable weapons from the Dead Space series, shows up as a Battle Pickup. That means it’s something you grab in the match, not a permanent addition to your loadout.

What you can unlock

EA’s patch notes list the event rewards, earned by fighting the Convergence:

EA’s notes also mention two in-game bundles but don’t spell out what they cost or what is in them, so check the in-game store before assuming anything is free. To be clear about what this event is: these are cosmetics and a match pickup. No Dead Space character is joining Battlefield 6 as a playable hero, and the Pulse Rifle isn’t a new permanent weapon.

Why this crossover is a little bigger than usual

Crossover events in live-service shooters usually mean a few skins and a themed playlist. A dedicated PvE mode is a heavier lift, and it gives Dead Space fans something to actually play this Halloween.
