Vertical has picked up North American rights to Recluse, the gothic horror film from writer-director Henry Chaisson, Deadline reported Friday. The distributor plans a theatrical release in the first half of 2027. No date has been set.

The film is Chaisson’s feature debut (his credits include Servant). It premiered at Tribeca in June, then played Fantasia and FrightFest. Sasha Frolova stars as Joan, who starts hearing mysterious audio recordings tied to her mother’s disappearance after a fire injures her estranged father. Xander Berkeley, Toby Poser, Mia Vallet, Kimball Farley and Frankie Seratch co-star. Spooky Pictures’ Steven Schneider (Paranormal Activity) is an executive producer.

Vertical’s Tony Piantedosi and Rachel White negotiated the deal with Mike Chapman of Blue Finch Films on behalf of the filmmakers, per Dread Central.
