Hours before the Hall H panel, the mystery costume we covered yesterday has been replaced by Doom himself.
Marvel’s San Diego Comic-Con booth looks different today. The Latverian Witch costume — the masked, green-robed mystery piece that drew theories across fandom yesterday — has been removed from display. In its place stands Doctor Doom’s Avengers: Doomsday costume, set against the same green Latveria backdrop and labeled with an official placard.
The Nerd Wire observed and photographed the change on the show floor this afternoon.
The Doom costume is the kind of piece that rewards standing in front of it: layered green robes over a quilted tunic, a heavy chained collar, articulated metal gauntlets and greaves, and the hammered-steel mask under a deep hood. It reads as comic-faithful without looking like cosplay — closer to armor built for a monarch than a supervillain suit.
Marvel has not commented on the change, and we are not going to guess what it means. Booth displays rotate for plenty of ordinary reasons. What is worth noting is the timing: the swap happened the same day as Marvel Studios’ Hall H presentation, scheduled for 5:30 PM PT — a 60-minute panel with Kevin Feige and guests from across the MCU.
