Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter say the Bodies Bodies Bodies star is in talks to join A24's R-rated puppet comedy Goblin. Nothing is official yet.

Chase Sui Wonders is reportedly circling Goblin, A24’s R-rated puppet comedy, according to a Deadline exclusive. The Hollywood Reporter separately reports that she is in talks to join. Neither report amounts to a signed deal, A24 hasn’t confirmed it, and both trades say her character is being kept under wraps.

What we know about Goblin

David Mikalson wrote and is directing the film. His script reportedly set off a bidding war before it landed at A24. The pitch, as earlier reports put it, is a raunchy buddy comedy about a green, anatomically correct goblin built as a practical puppet, with “Ted meets E.T.” as the shorthand.

Per Deadline, Kenneth Branagh voices the title creature, and Skyler Gisondo and Will Forte are attached. Production is set to begin next year, Deadline reports. We have not found a release date from A24, so treat any timeline as unofficial for now.

Where Wonders is right now

Wonders broke out with A24’s Bodies Bodies Bodies in 2022, a slasher-flavored party-game satire where nobody can be trusted and everyone is typing. Her credits since include the series Generation and the 2025 legacy sequel I Know What You Did Last Summer.

Her plate is already full. Deadline notes she is coming off the first season of Apple’s The Studio, playing assistant-turned-executive Quinn Hackett, a role that earned her a Gotham TV Award nomination, with Season 2 due next year. She is currently filming Universal’s holiday comedy Naughty, directed by Olivia Wilde, opposite Jennifer Aniston and Peter Dinklage, and is next up in A24’s Slayground, Jeremy Saulnier’s action thriller due Jan. 29, 2027. We covered the Slayground teaser last week.

If the talks close, Goblin gets an actor with proven chops at playing absurdity dead straight, which matters when your scene partner is a puppet with a Branagh voice. A24 has not announced anything, so we will update this story when the studio does.
