Kit Connor in Talks to Play Cyclops in Marvel’s X-Men

Marvel’s X-Men reboot may have found its field leader. According to Deadline, Heartstopper and Warfare star Kit Connor is in talks to play Cyclops in Jake Schreier’s upcoming film for Marvel Studios.

The key word there is “in talks.” Connor hasn’t signed, and Marvel hasn’t confirmed the casting. Deadline reports that Schreier and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige met with a number of candidates before zeroing in on Connor for Scott Summers — the visor-wearing optic-blaster who has anchored nearly every X-Men team on the page.

Who Kit Connor would be joining

If the deal closes, Connor slots into a team that’s been coming together in pieces. Samara Weaving was previously reported to play telepath Emma Frost, and Sadie Sink has been reported for Jean Grey. So the early X-Men lineup is starting to look like a genuine ensemble rather than a series of one-off announcements.

That mix says something about the tone Marvel is chasing: young, charismatic leads for a franchise it’s rebuilding from the ground up inside the MCU.
