RuneScape Reignited Launches December 2 With a Fresh, Separate Economy

RuneScape Reignited finally has a launch date. Jagex announced that the fresh-start mode arrives December 2. It offers a clean slate with some meaningful rules attached.

At its core is a new, permanent character type. These characters come with separate trading and leaderboards. As a result, Reignited players compete in their own fresh economy.

There is no shortcut to the top. Jagex confirmed there is no paid progression in the mode. Notably, launch also includes ten days of free members’ access.

How RuneScape Reignited works alongside existing players

Reignited characters are not fully isolated. They share worlds with existing players, so everyone plays in the same spaces. However, there are firm limits on how they interact.

Specifically, Reignited characters cannot trade with veteran characters. They also cannot enter shared boss instances with them. Consequently, the fresh economy stays sealed off from the established one.

Importantly, existing progress is safe. Players keep their current accounts and achievements intact. Therefore, this is an addition rather than a reset for veterans.

This is a separate development from the recently announced RuneScape 4. Rather than a new game, Reignited is a fresh-start option within the current experience. So fans now have two very different RuneScape headlines to track.
