Two of the most talked-about indie horror games of the last two years are coming to Xbox, and both are landing on Game Pass. During Tuesday’s ID@Xbox x IGN Showcase, Xbox confirmed that Wrong Organ’s Mouthwashing arrives Oct. 29 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Xbox on PC, included with Game Pass on day one, and that Trioskaz’s No, I’m Not a Human will follow on Xbox consoles in 2027, also as a Game Pass title.
Both games are published by Critical Reflex, the label behind a run of low-fi, high-dread PC hits that have mostly lived on Steam until now. This is the first time either has been announced for an Xbox console.
Mouthwashing: Oct. 29, two days before Halloween
Mouthwashing is the one to clear your Halloween week for. Set aboard the Tulpar, a freight ship deliberately crashed by its captain and now drifting with its five-person crew and no rescue coming, it’s a short, PS1-styled psychological horror story about guilt, responsibility and what people do to each other when the lights are going out. Xbox Wire’s own description calls it a “psychological horror drama,” which undersells how upsetting it gets. The game launched on PC in September 2024 and became a word-of-mouth phenomenon, with secondary reports citing more than 800,000 copies sold on Steam.
Xbox’s October Game Pass “Wave 2” post lists Mouthwashing for Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass Premium and PC Game Pass, playable on cloud, Series X|S, handheld and PC. The Essential tier isn’t listed. The showcase recap also names Xbox One, which the Game Pass post doesn’t, so Xbox One owners may want to wait for the store listing before counting on it.

No, I’m Not a Human: 2027
No, I’m Not a Human is the slower burn. You’re holed up in a house while the sun is burning the world outside, and strangers keep knocking, asking to be let in. Some of them are people. Some are “Visitors” wearing people, and the whole game is deciding who gets through the door and living with the consequences. Xbox Wire files it under “apocalyptic anxiety thriller,” which is accurate. It launched on PC in September 2025, where secondary reports put its sales past a million copies.
Xbox confirmed Series X|S and Xbox One versions for 2027 and Game Pass inclusion, with no month, day or specific tier announced. A PS5 and Switch release has been reported elsewhere but isn’t part of Xbox’s announcement, so we’re not counting it until the publisher says so.
More horror in the Game Pass drop
If you’re building a Halloween queue, the same Game Pass wave adds the supernatural detective mystery The Séance of Blake Manor on Oct. 27, the “horror parkour” game Terrible Lizards on Oct. 29 (Ultimate and PC Game Pass), and the online co-op horror title Pit of Goblin on Nov. 3. Telltale’s The Wolf Among Us Remastered also hits Series X|S and Xbox One on Oct. 29, though Xbox hasn’t said whether it’s on Game Pass.
Both Critical Reflex games are currently discounted on Steam if you’d rather not wait, but if you already pay for Game Pass, Oct. 29 is the date. For more on where indie horror is heading, see our story on Fears to Fathom getting film and TV adaptations.
