Clear plastic is back. PlayStation today revealed the Prism Collection, a line of transparent DualSense wireless controllers and PS5 console covers in three colors: Flare Orange, Emerald Green and Graphite Gray. Preorders open November 10, and the collection starts launching February 4, 2027, according to Sony’s announcement on PlayStation.Blog.
Three colors, all see-through
Every piece pairs a clear, high-gloss shell with a metallic middle cover, so you can actually see the hardware inside the controller. Sony’s Color, Material and Finish team describes the orange as picking up a rosy tint where the transparent layers overlap, the green as a deep hunter shade and the gray as a cool, stormy tone.

The controllers are coming globally. The console covers are the harder get: PlayStation is selling them directly only in the US, UK, France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Spain, Portugal and Italy. Everywhere else, they’ll show up in limited quantities through select retailers. Sony’s post also doesn’t spell out which PS5 models the covers fit, so check the listing before you preorder.

A late-’90s throwback, on purpose
Sony isn’t being subtle about the inspiration. Leo Cardoso of the design team said the company knows fans “have been looking forward to the return of transparent controllers,” and framed the collection as a modern take on the see-through trend of the late ’90s, reworked to fit the PS5’s industrial design.

Sony also released a first-look video for the collection:
