Overwatch’s 53rd Hero D.Mon Arrives August 11 — Meet the Sword-Wielding MEKA Pilot

Overwatch is adding its 53rd hero, and she’s bringing a sword to a gunfight. Meet D.Mon, a new Tank arriving August 11 with the launch of Season 4.

Her real name is Yuna Lee, and she’s a member of Korea’s MEKA squad — the same unit as fan-favorite D.Va. Streamer and voice actor LilyPichu voices her in English. So Blizzard is once again leaning into content-creator casting, a recurring theme across its 2026 hero rollout.

How D.Mon is different from D.Va

For roughly a decade, D.Va has been Overwatch’s lone MEKA pilot — and she fights with guns. D.Mon flips that. Instead of ranged firepower, she pilots a massive mech called Beast and takes the fight up close.

Her main weapon is the Plasma Saber, an energy sword that slices enemies at close range. She also carries the Fusion Repeater for ranged pressure when she needs it. On defense, her Power Barrier shields her team while she pushes forward. So she’s a frontline brawler, not a poke tank.

D.Mon’s kit at a glance

Beyond the saber and shield, D.Mon has a few tricks. Propulsors let her surge in any horizontal direction, and she can chain that dash into a Surging Strike with her sword. Her ultimate, meanwhile, unleashes a massive energy slash that amplifies the damage her targets take.

When the mech breaks

Here’s the coolest wrinkle. Like D.Va, D.Mon can eject when her mech is destroyed — but she doesn’t pull out a pistol. Instead, she grabs a heavy machine gun and keeps fighting on foot.

And when she earns her mech back, she doesn’t call it down from the sky. Instead, Beast reassembles around her, letting her jump straight back onto the front line. It’s a distinct identity from D.Va, right down to the comeback.

When can you play D.Mon?

D.Mon launches August 11 alongside Overwatch Season 4. For a game that’s spent years building out its Tank lineup, a melee-first MEKA pilot is a genuinely fresh addition — and a very different way to fly the flag for Korea’s MEKA squad.
