Capcom has pulled back the curtain on the next World Warrior. Street Fighter 6 Arjun got a full gameplay trailer this week, and the Year 4 newcomer is shaping up to be one of the roster’s most distinctive fighters yet — a big-bodied bruiser who weaponizes yogic breathing.
When Arjun arrives
Arjun joins the Street Fighter 6 roster on October 13, 2026 as the second DLC character of Year 4 (Season 4). Players can grab him through the Year 4 Character Pass or as an individual purchase. Meanwhile, he arrives as Street Fighter 6 settles into its long-tail live-service groove. Capcom has kept the game near the top of the competitive scene with steady seasonal drops, and each new fighter reshuffles the tier lists ahead of the next round of majors. (The franchise has been busy off the sticks, too — see how the Street Fighter movie cast compares to the games.)
Who is Arjun?
Story-wise, Arjun is a former Indian police officer falsely accused of murdering a colleague. Now on the run, he’s fighting to clear his name and uncover the truth behind the crime. It’s a grounded, on-the-lam premise that gives the newcomer some real edge, and it slots neatly into Street Fighter 6‘s character-driven World Tour storytelling.
How Street Fighter 6 Arjun plays
Mechanically, Street Fighter 6 Arjun is a large character in the mold of Marisa, built around breath control. His kit turns yoga into offense:
- Breath-powered projectiles he can kick at varied angles, making it risky to simply jump out.
- A near-full-screen shoulder charge that’s plus on block, letting him bulldoze in and keep his turn.
- Air geysers that erupt for strong okizeme and knockdown pressure.
- A super-armor state from holding his breath before unleashing powerful wind attacks.
- A dancing Level 3 Super Art with a disorienting, multi-hit finish.
As a result, that’s the toolkit of a classic pressure-heavy grappler-adjacent bruiser — one who wants to be right in your face, discouraging jumps with angled fireballs and steamrolling forward with armored advances. It’s a familiar archetype given a genuinely fresh coat of paint.
Director Takayuki Nakayama summed it up: “Arjun is a very unique character that’s going to feel very different from everyone else.” In fact, between the heavy close-range pressure and the breathing gimmick, he looks like a genuine archetype-bender — and fight fans won’t have to wait long to lab him out once October 13 rolls around.
