Archetype Entertainment just put a full EXODUS mission in front of everyone, not only the press who got to play it first. On Oct. 28, the official EXODUS YouTube channel posted “EXODUS Gameplay | Liberating the Kay Mission Demo,” a 40-minute video you can watch below.
Press and creators already played this same mission on Khonsu in hands-on previews, according to Archetype’s Oct. 22 community update. This is the first time the public can watch the whole demo straight from the studio.
What happens in “Liberating the Kay”
You start by seeking help from Suliman Tenjin, leader of the Tenjin Dynasty. His help comes with a favor, and that favor leads into a fight against forces led by your half-brother, Gideon Aslan, for control of Khonsu. That’s the orbital station that protects the homeworld and has long been home to the Kay.

The mission doubles as a showcase for the game’s choice system. Choices large and small push you toward one of three paths: Traveler, Paladin (virtue) or Immortal (ambition). Where you land decides the Kay’s fate, and the consequences stick.
More EXODUS to watch
The Oct. 22 update also showed an updated look at Jun, the player character, whose gender you choose. It teased several combat approaches too: the Recycler switching modes, the Gauntlet and stealth. If 40 minutes is a lot, Archetype’s earlier Extended Gameplay Reveal runs about 20.

Plenty of fans are watching EXODUS as a possible home for the kind of choice-driven sci-fi RPG BioWare made famous, and that conversation is loud right now: yesterday we covered the #SaveMassEffect petition topping 200,000 signatures.
EXODUS is a sci-fi action-adventure RPG from Archetype, a Wizards of the Coast studio. It launches April 7, 2027, on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store. Here’s our earlier report on the release date.
