If you missed Oak Street’s trip back to the dinosaur age in theaters, your couch gets a second shot. The End of Oak Street will make its global streaming debut exclusively on HBO Max on Friday, Nov. 13, according to Deadline.
That is a Friday the 13th arrival for a movie about an entire neighborhood getting yanked somewhere it absolutely should not be. Bloody Disgusting’s headline on the news leans right into the date.
What we know about the HBO Max release
- Streaming: Friday, Nov. 13, globally on HBO Max, per Deadline.
- HBO linear premiere: Saturday, Nov. 14, at 8 p.m. ET.

The Warner Bros. Pictures release opened in theaters and IMAX in August, a run we previewed in our earlier look at the film. Deadline reports it has grossed $122 million worldwide.
A quick refresher on the story
Per Deadline’s description, the film follows a 1980s neighborhood that is transported by a cosmic event back to the age of the dinosaurs. “The Platt family soon discovers that their very survival depends on them sticking together as they navigate their now unrecognizable surroundings,” the synopsis reads.
David Robert Mitchell, the filmmaker behind Under the Silver Lake and It Follows, wrote and directed. Anne Hathaway, Ewan McGregor, Maisy Stella and Christian Convery star.
J.J. Abrams, Hannah Minghella, Jon Cohen, Mitchell, Matt Jackson and Tommy Harper produce. Chris Bender, Jake Weiner, Joanne Lee and Leeann Stonebreaker are executive producers.
Why the date works
Nothing in the reports we’ve read says the date was picked for Friday the 13th, so we’ll leave that as a very fitting coincidence. What is clear is the two-step plan: a streaming-first Friday, then a linear premiere on HBO the next night for anyone who still watches the old-fashioned way. Catch up on more of our movie coverage and horror coverage in the meantime.
