The Wasteland has officially arrived in Southern California, and a newly transformed Pomona landmark may be giving fans their first clue about where Fallout Season 3 is headed.
Amazon’s Fallout is currently filming in downtown Pomona, California, where the area surrounding the historic Fox Theater has been transformed for the Prime Video series’ third season. Photos and videos shared from the production show crews building out a distinctly post-apocalyptic streetscape around the theater, with filming activity underway this week.
The Pomona shoot isn’t the only Season 3 set fans are decoding, either — a Brotherhood of Steel banner spotted elsewhere may point to the Order of the Quill.
But the most interesting part of the set isn’t Pomona.
It’s Salt Lake.

Fallout Season 3 May Be Heading to Salt Lake City
Images from the Pomona set appear to show the Fox Theater redressed with signage reading “Sinemo Salt Lake,” while other set photos contain references to Utah. One person posting from the area specifically noted that the production had retrofitted the theater with the Salt Lake branding.
That doesn’t officially confirm that Fallout Season 3 will take Lucy, The Ghoul or any of its other characters to Salt Lake City.
It is, however, one hell of a breadcrumb.
Productions routinely use Southern California locations to stand in for other cities, meaning Pomona could simply be doubling for a post-war version of Salt Lake City. Until Prime Video confirms the setting or additional context emerges from filming, exactly how much of Utah will factor into Season 3 remains unclear.
Still, this is much more specific than your average anonymous building facade.
They literally put Salt Lake on the theater.

California Is Becoming Fallout’s Home
The Pomona shoot also fits into a much larger production move for the series.
Fallout relocated much of its production to California beginning with Season 2, and the state has already confirmed that the show will remain there for Season 3.
According to California officials, the third season is expected to generate approximately $166.3 million in qualified spending and $89.5 million in qualified wages in the state — a 21% increase in qualified spending compared with the previous season.
Executive producer Jonathan Nolan also confirmed the production’s commitment to California when the incentive was announced, saying the team was proud to continue shooting and investing in the state.
Now, at least one piece of that massive production is happening right in downtown Pomona.
Where Is Fallout Going After New Vegas?
The possible Utah tease immediately raises a much bigger question for Season 3.
Where exactly is the show taking us next?
Season 2 pushed Fallout deeper into territory recognizable to longtime fans, and the Pomona set suggests the series may continue expanding its version of the American Wasteland rather than staying rooted in one location.
Salt Lake City would give the series another opportunity to pull from the enormous amount of history, factions and mythology scattered throughout the games while still telling a story that exists within its own corner of Fallout canon.
For now, Prime Video hasn’t announced Salt Lake City as an official Season 3 location.
But somebody went through an awful lot of trouble turning a theater in Pomona into one.
And in Fallout, environmental storytelling usually means something.
