The next chapter of Ahsoka Tano’s story may finally have an exact arrival date.
After nearly four years away, Star Wars: Ahsoka Season 2 is reportedly set to premiere on Disney+ on January 20, 2027.
The date began circulating Friday night as D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event got underway in Anaheim, with multiple entertainment news accounts independently reporting the January 20 premiere. Lucasfilm has not yet added the exact date to its official Star Wars announcement, which continues to list Season 2 for early 2027.
That early-2027 window was first announced by Rosario Dawson during Disney’s Upfront presentation in May. Dawson teased a substantially bigger second season, telling attendees that the battles and stakes would both be raised when Ahsoka returns. The footage screened for media included Ahsoka, Sabine Wren, Grand Admiral Thrawn, Ezra Bridger, Hera Syndulla and Hayden Christensen’s Anakin Skywalker.
D23 Is Already Giving Us Our Best Look at Ahsoka Season 2
Even before an official release-date announcement hits, Lucasfilm is making Ahsoka a major part of its D23 presence.
The Lucasfilm pavilion features costumes and props from Season 2, including Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka Tano, Natasha Liu Bordizzo’s Sabine Wren and a new Grand Admiral Thrawn uniform worn by Lars Mikkelsen.
But one display is especially interesting: Lucasfilm specifically says the pavilion includes Padawan-era looks for Ahsoka and Anakin Skywalker, with Hayden Christensen’s Anakin costume on display.
That gives fans another piece of evidence that Season 2 will continue exploring the relationship between Ahsoka and her former Jedi Master — and potentially return to periods of their history previously seen in The Clone Wars and revisited in live action during Season 1.
And yes, we’re going to need to talk about those costumes separately.
What We Know About Ahsoka Season 2
Dave Filoni returns as creator for the second season, which will pick up the story following the Season 1 finale.
Rosario Dawson returns as Ahsoka alongside Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati and Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker. Rory McCann joins the cast as Baylan Skoll, continuing the character’s story following the death of Ray Stevenson.
Lucasfilm’s official D23 coverage promises more Star Wars news throughout the weekend, so an official confirmation of the January 20 date could still be coming.
For now, January 20, 2027 is the date being reported — while Lucasfilm officially maintains its broader “early 2027” window.
And considering where Season 1 left Ahsoka, Sabine, Thrawn and Baylan?
Four years has been quite enough, thanks.
