Robot Laser Shark, an Estonian indie studio, is bringing Grannies on Wheels to Gamescom this year — a chaotic, clay-animated party game where the premise is exactly what it sounds like: grannies drive monster trucks.

Up to four players share one screen, each controlling an elderly woman piloting a hulking monster truck through dynamic, deformable arenas. The stated goal is to fight over jars of jam and settle disputes with vehicular damage, which is about as clear a mission statement as a couch party game needs.

The game leans hard into a handmade-clay aesthetic — the trucks and the grannies themselves look sculpted out of Play-Doh, which fits the exaggerated, physics-driven chaos. Crashes, jumps, and destructible terrain are all part of the mix across multiple party modes.

It’s the first commercial release from Robot Laser Shark, and the studio isn’t waiting for a big console launch to let people play — a demo is already live on Steam right now, ahead of a planned Early 2027 release on Steam and consoles. At Gamescom, the team is showing off new levels and modes at Nordic All Stars (Koelnmesse Hall 4.1, D033g) that aren’t in the public build yet.
