Marvel is putting X-Force on the run in a new five-issue limited series. In fact, Fugitive X-Force finds the team framed for a crime it didn’t commit. Cable, the team’s longtime leader, turns up missing with his mind compromised. That leaves Boom-Boom to take charge.
Picking Up Where Inglorious X-Force Leaves Off
Writer Tim Seeley describes the new series as a direct continuation of Inglorious X-Force. That series wraps its own run with issues #9 and #10 in October. Fugitive X-Force launches straight into the aftermath. The team deals with the fallout of that story rather than starting fresh. Artist Áthila Fabbio, who says he’s enjoying the collaboration, handles art duties across the five issues.
Who’s on the Run
In particular, the lineup fleeing the law includes Boom-Boom, Archangel, Hellverine, Domino, and Ms. Marvel. Seeley has framed Boom-Boom’s promotion to leader as earned rather than accidental. He also calls her Cable’s most capable student when it comes to blowing things up. Domino, meanwhile, splits off from the group to track down what actually happened to Cable. The rest of the team stays a step ahead of the mutants and authorities chasing them. Fugitive X-Force #1 arrives December 9.
