Japan’s Anniversary Association just made it official: September 9 is Attack on Titan Day now. In fact, the date marks when Hajime Isayama’s manga began serialization back in 2009.

The franchise isn’t letting the date pass quietly. Magazine Pocket is opening up free access to chapters through Chapter 99. That’s a 99-hour window starting at midnight. There’s new merch too, built around a commemorative visual. Also, Isayama drew a fresh piece of art featuring Eren, Levi, and Erwin dressed up for the occasion.

There’s an evening livestream lined up too. Voice actors Yuki Kaji, Yui Ishikawa, and Hiro Shimono will share franchise updates. So far, exact details are still trickling out via the official X account. Meanwhile, Tokyo’s running an Attack on Titan café through October 12, with new art from WIT Studio. Still, that’s reason enough to fall back into the franchise, even without the free manga binge.
