Paul Bettany is set to star in Netflix’s Pagans, according to an exclusive from Deadline. He joins Steven Yeun in the supernatural family drama, playing a character named Mag, described as a charismatic stranger who meets the family.

The series comes from Joshua Zetumer, creator of Say Nothing, who is showrunner. Yeun plays Gus, a father left as the sole caretaker of his two children after his wife dies. His daughter Alice grows increasingly sinister, and the strained bond between them turns into something far more dangerous.
The cast so far
- Steven Yeun as Gus
- Paul Bettany as Mag
- Sabine Grace as Alice
- Logan Kim as Nate, Gus’s son
- Marin Ireland as Janelle
- Intae Kim as Casey, Gus’s younger brother
Zetumer, Yeun, Drew Goddard, Sarah Esberg, Jonathan van Tulleken, Erica Kay and Christina Oh are executive producers. Netflix has not announced a release date.
It is a notable pivot for Bettany, who has spent the fall at the center of Marvel Television’s VisionQuest, with the finale still to come. If you are caught up, our VisionQuest hub has all of our coverage, including our Canon Event breakdown of Episode 7.
We have not seen an official Netflix announcement of the casting, so treat this as reported until the streamer confirms.
