No Rest for the Wicked’s 1.0 Launch Delayed to March 2027

Moon Studios has delayed No Rest for the Wicked's 1.0 launch from October 2026 to March 2027, citing more work needed on performance, the class system and overall polish.

No Rest for the Wicked‘s full 1.0 launch has been pushed from October 2026 to March 2027. Moon Studios creative director Thomas Mahler said that after extensive playtesting, the team felt the game was not quite there yet.

What Still Needs Work

Moon Studios says the remaining months will go toward gameplay performance optimization, refining the class system, and general polish across the game’s systems. A final closed beta is planned for December 2026 to gather more player feedback before launch.

A Complicated Path to 1.0

The dark action RPG from the Ori studio entered Steam Early Access back in April 2024 under Take-Two’s Private Division label. Take-Two sold Private Division in November 2024 but held onto No Rest for the Wicked specifically, and Moon Studios later secured its own publishing rights from Take-Two, going what it called fully independent to finish the game on its own terms.

What Changes for Early Buyers

The Founder’s Pack purchase window has been extended from its original July 1 cutoff to January 1, 2027, and PlayStation 5 preorders, which weren’t previously open, will begin in January 2027 alongside continued Founder’s Pack availability.

No Rest for the Wicked is set to launch simultaneously on PS5 and PC in March 2027. Xbox Series X/S and Switch 2 versions are still planned but remain on an unconfirmed timeline.
