PlayStation and Konami Stack Three Gaming Showcases on September 3

September 3 is stacking up to be one of the busier mornings on the gaming calendar this year: PlayStation is running two State of Play broadcasts back-to-back, and Konami follows immediately after with its own Press Start showcase.

State of Play and State of Play Japan, Back-to-Back

The main State of Play kicks off at 6 a.m. PT / 9 a.m. ET / 3 p.m. CEST / 10 p.m. JST on YouTube and Twitch, airing in English with Japanese subtitles. Sony says it will include updates and announcements from PlayStation Studios and third-party partners, plus what Square Enix is calling an extended look at the vast world of Final Fantasy VII Revelation — the third and final chapter of the Remake trilogy, currently aiming for a spring 2027 window. PlayStation has also warned that licensed music in the broadcast could affect co-streams and video-on-demand archives afterward, so some footage may not stay easily rewatchable.

State of Play Japan follows directly, airing in Japanese with English subtitles and hosted by voice actor Yuki Kaji. Sony describes it as deep dives into upcoming games from studios in Japan and Asia, including new gameplay and announcements specific to that region.

Konami’s Press Start Adds a Third Show

Konami’s Press Start showcase airs right after, at 8 a.m. PT / 11 a.m. ET on Konami’s YouTube and Twitch channels. It’s built around three games: Silent Hill: Townfall, the first-person adventure from Screenburn releasing September 24; Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, a side-scrolling entry from Evil Empire due October 15; and Rev. NOiR, a PlayStation 5-exclusive action RPG with no release window yet. Konami says the show will include new gameplay footage and video messages from each game’s developers, and has specifically ruled out any news on the Silent Hill remake currently in development at Bloober Team.

Rev. NOiR is the least understood of the three. First revealed back at February’s State of Play, it’s an action RPG from ILCA, the studio behind Dragon Quest XI and the Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl remakes, produced by Square Enix veteran Nobuki Kadoi. The premise follows an amnesiac boy and a mysterious girl trying to stop a phenomenon called “lightfall,” but Konami has kept most other details under wraps since that reveal.

How to Watch All Three

All three broadcasts stream on YouTube and Twitch, running from 6 a.m. PT through roughly mid-morning Pacific time. Final Fantasy VII Revelation’s last trailer introduced the Highwind and a new summon, and Silent Hill: Townfall already has its cast in place ahead of Thursday’s showcase.
